Description

Antique Solid Silver Quaich Hallmarked Edinburgh 1937 made by The renowned Wilson and Sharpe of Princes Street Edinburgh.   This very large and heavy art deco presentation Quaich and complete with orginal stand . We have fully restored this silver Quaich to its former glory,  it is a wonderful and rare piece of Scottish Art Deco silver. Weight is 650grams and diameter measures up at just over 7 inches. Max width across handles is 11.5 inches approx. A rare and very beautiful silver Quaich perhaps unique - where would you ever find another.
Wilson & Sharp - Edinburgh
Andrew Sharp served his apprenticeship with the renowned Edinburgh firm of Hamilton & Inches. He left H & I to run the silver department at T.J. Paris & Co. of Liverpool.
Wilson & Sharp initially entered marks as the Glasgow Assay Office and later a wide variety of marks at the Edinburgh and London Assay Offices.
Wilson & Sharp were absorbed into Mappin & Webb in the 1970's
