Solid Silver Quaich – Deakin & Francis (Edinburgh 1972, Restored, Gift Boxed)
The Quaich (pronounced quake) is Scotland’s traditional cup of friendship – a two-handled vessel symbolising unity, trust, and togetherness. For centuries it has been used to share a dram at weddings, christenings, and clan gatherings, making it one of Scotland’s most enduring symbols of hospitality.
This large solid silver Quaich, crafted by the renowned silversmiths Deakin & Francis and hallmarked in Edinburgh, 1972, is a fine example of quality British silverwork. Its most striking feature is the pair of handles, each superbly decorated with Celtic knot designs – an ancient pattern representing eternity, unity, and heritage.
Measuring 13 cm in bowl diameter, 5 cm in height, and 18.5 cm across from handle to handle, it weighs a substantial 160 grams. Though now over 50 years old, it has been carefully restored to near-new condition, preserving its beauty while respecting its history.
For personalisation, we can engrave a discreet jeweller’s plaque and attach it to the gift box, making it a thoughtful and lasting present.
