Antique Silver - Antique Silver Plated Twin Inkstand with Taper Stick – Waterhouse & Co, Sheffield c.1835

Very Large | Reed & Ribbon Design | Rare Late Georgian Silver | Expertly Restored

This exceptional very large antique silver plated twin inkstand, dating to circa 1835, is a rare example of late Georgian desk silverware. Almost certainly made by Waterhouse & Co of Sheffield, as indicated by the fleur-de-lis maker’s mark beneath, it showcases outstanding quality, scale and craftsmanship.

Featuring twin cast handles, a central taper stick holder, and standing proudly on four bracket feet, this weighty desk piece incorporates matching reed and ribbon decoration throughout, including the inkwell mounts. Both original glass ink bottles remain in place, adding authenticity and completing the elegant presentation.

With a substantial weight of approximately 1.629 kg and measuring 32 cm (L) x 20 cm (W) x 11 cm (H), this inkstand is a statement example of early Victorian silver plated tableware—rarely found in such impressive condition and size.

Expertly restored by us to near-new presentation while preserving its original charm and period character, it is an outstanding piece for collectors, connoisseurs of fine antique silver, or as a distinguished executive desk accessory.
