Description

Omar Ramsen and Alwynn Carr - a fine quality Arts & Crafts napkin holder made by the finest 20th century English silversmithing partnership. A sign of its high quality are the two hand chased names on opposing sides of the ring. Joan Margaret Downs-Butcher was the step daughter of Omar Ramsden. Joan married Dr.James Lascelles-Gilmore. Therefore the names on the item are the maiden and married names of the same person. This napkin ring was probably a wedding gift from the great man himself to his step daughter. Napkin Ring Description: Octagonal with important unique chased Ramsden family dedication. Hallmark: London 1912 by Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr Dimensions: 45mm high x 53mm wide; weight- 43g.
